The Par 3 is the next step in the progression of a junior golfer interested in beginning competitive golf. The tour consists of 8 regular events and an Invitational event at the end of the season. For juniors 18 and under. Played on Milwaukee County par 3 golf courses. Age divisions will change in 2024 to 7-10, 11-13, 14-18 for boys and girls. Tee times start at 8 a.m. and are based on age division. We have Par 3 tours in Northeast, Milwaukee, Madison and Wisconsin Dells areas.
The WPGA Junior Foundation is adding an Intermediate Tour. This tour is geared towards juniors who have aged out of the Future Tour (playing 9-holes) but are not quite ready for the Junior Tour (18-hole events for skilled players) and for those 10-12 year old's who want to try and play in an 18-hole tournament. This tour will play shorter yardages and we will modify tees so the Boys 14-15 will play from about 5,700 to 5,900 yards and younger boys and all girls will play around 5,000 or less yards. This tour is geared for players under the age of 15.
The goal of the Players Tour is to have the top junior players in the state compete on golf courses set up appropriately for a high level of play. Invitations will be extended to the top finishers from the 2023 Player of the Year point list. Juniors must meet a handicap requirement to play on this tour. Boys must have an index of 9.1 and under and girls must be under 16.1. Course yardage is 6,500 - 6,800 for boys and 5,500 - 5,900 for girls. This is an Invite Only tour. If you meet the above handicap requirements, contact Andy Landenberger or Jazz Tulda at the Section office to verify your handicap and make you eligible to register for Players Tour events.
Who is invited to play on the Players Tour:
To be invited to play in an American Family Insurance Championship Players Tour event, you must have a qualifying WSGA Handicap. Boys must be under a 9.1 index and girls must be under a 16.1 index. Players Tour events for 2024 are: Johnson Park/ Meadowbrook, Dells Junior Championship, Blackwolf Run, College Showcase and Lawsonia. **The Players Tour event at Blackwolf Run will have a lower handicap requirement. Boys must be under a 6.1 index and girls must be under a 14.1 index.
How does Players Tour event registration work?
We will continue doing a random lottery process for all Players Tour events in 2024. Players will have the window from April 3 at 6pm to the end of day on April 10 to register for each Players Tour event lottery. If, on April 10th , there are more registrants than spots, a random drawing will be held for those that meet the eligibility criteria. You will receive notification by April 17 whether you are in each event or on a waitlist. All Players Tour events will have registrations that are “Pending Approval”. This means you are not in the event right away. Your entry will be reviewed before being approved.**The Blackwolf Run event will have an exempt list. Players who were the top 24 players on the 2023 Player of the Year list and 2024 Cup Team players will be exempt for this event. These players will have from April 3 to April 10 to register. If the field is not full it will be filled from the “Pending Approval” list of players registered for this event and meet the lower handicap requirements of this event.
